ONE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION, TWO ADMINISTRATION OFFICIALS, ZERO PHONE CALLS FROM DHS: TOM HOMAN CONFIRMED THE PROBE INTO ILHAN OMAR — AND SHE SAYS NOBODY EVEN TOLD HER

Tom Homan didn’t whisper it. He said it on national television.

On September 13, 2026, on Fox News’ “The Sunday Briefing,” the White House border czar confirmed that DHS is looking into allegations involving Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. He would not unpack the file. He called it an ongoing criminal investigation. Then he said the sentence Washington hates most: no one is above the law.

“I know things are going on, but I can’t give specifics of what’s happening,” Homan said. He added: “If someone committed an immigration violation, if someone committed marriage fraud or anything like that, regardless if they’re a congressman or not, no one’s above the law. We’ll let HSI, Homeland Security Investigations, continue the investigation.”

Pressed on whether he was confirming an investigation into Omar specifically, he didn’t run from it. “I’m confirming that ICE is, yeah — look, I said months ago that there’s something that’s been reported and needs to be looked at.”

That’s not a rumor mill. That’s the border czar on live TV telling the country the case is live.

Omar’s answer, five days later, was the usual shrug. On September 18, she told Fox News Digital that DHS has not contacted her. “No, they have not.” Asked about the long-running allegation that she married a man critics say is her brother as part of an immigration scheme, she dismissed it as a right-wing attack and said she doesn’t worry about it.

Of course she doesn’t. In this town, some people get investigated. Other people get a press statement and a lecture about bigotry.

The allegation itself is not new. Critics have long accused Omar of marrying a man they allege is her brother to bring him to the United States. Omar has repeatedly denied it, and it has not been proven in public records. In December 2025 she called the claims “bigoted lies” and said Trump was “obsessed” with her. Obsession is the word they use when the questions don’t go away.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin — confirmed by the Senate 54-45 on March 24, 2026, replacing Kristi Noem — did not treat it like a ghost story. On a podcast he said: “Something’s going to happen. We know that she married her brother to try to bring him to the United States. We know he now lives in London. There may be more to this, the whole family migration and possibly some illegal activity for them to come to the United States to begin with. If we can prove it, that you shouldn’t have been here in the first place, we will deport you.”

Vice President JD Vance said in May 2026 that the Justice Department was looking into whether Omar committed immigration fraud. “You read the things about Ilhan Omar — who she married and whether she didn’t marry this person or that person. It certainly seems like something fishy is there, but everybody’s entitled to equal justice under the law.”

In a March 2026 podcast with commentator Benny Johnson, Vance went further, saying he’d spoken with White House immigration advisor Stephen Miller about potential legal action against Omar: “We think Ilhan Omar definitely committed immigration fraud against the United States of America.”

Homan put the legal hook on the table, too. There is a denaturalization process for proven immigration fraud. “If someone lies through that process to becoming a citizen, and we can prove they in fact lied or misrepresented themselves, we can absolutely denaturalize them,” he said. “We’ve done it before many times over the last 40 years I’ve been around.”

Read that again. If the proof is there, citizenship is not a costume you get to keep.

Then there’s the money. Omar’s financial disclosures separately showed her reported net worth swing from roughly $6 million–$30 million down to about $18,000–$95,000. House Oversight Chairman James Comer voiced interest in an Ethics Committee probe into her finances and her ties to the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme, which prosecutors say cost taxpayers roughly $250 million. The nonpartisan Office of Congressional Conduct’s board voted 5-1 to recommend the Ethics Committee dismiss the financial-disclosure allegations, finding no “substantial reason to believe” she knowingly reported false information. Omar’s spokesperson said the filing was voluntarily corrected and “the congresswoman is not a millionaire.”

Fine. Let the Ethics Committee sort the paperwork. The immigration file is a different matter — and Homan just confirmed it’s still open.

This is the part the donor class never wants said out loud. If a construction worker lied on an immigration form, they’d process him. If a waitress committed marriage fraud, they’d hunt the paperwork. If a congresswoman is named in the same kind of allegation — denied, unproven in public records, and now tied by Homan to an ongoing criminal investigation — the standard does not get softer because she has a pin on her lapel.

Then finish the job. Investigate. Prove it or close it. Don’t let this dissolve into another round of “right-wing attack” and a shrug from the member who says she isn’t worried.

If the file is empty, say so with records. If it isn’t, the law already wrote the ending. Denaturalization exists for a reason. Deportation exists for a reason. They exist so the rules apply to the people who write the rules.

America First means the border is not a prop. It means fraud is not a vibe. It means a sitting member of Congress does not get a courtesy exemption from Homeland Security Investigations because the media finds the subject impolite.

Homan confirmed the investigation is ongoing. Omar says nobody’s called. Mullin and Vance already told the country what they think the facts will show. Now the only question left is whether this administration meant it when it said no one is above the law.
