Federal charges landed last week.

On September 18, 2026, the Justice Department announced federal charges against three foreign nationals in Georgia accused of voting in American elections they had no legal right to touch. The individual cases hit the docket across the month: Gabriel Covarrubias was charged by criminal information on September 1 after waiving indictment; Analiea Milliscent Eccles was arrested and appeared in court on September 14; Pauline Lewis appeared in court following her arrest on September 18.

Pauline Lewis, 65, of Dawsonville, is a citizen of Antigua and Barbuda. She entered the United States on a student visa in 1979 and never applied for citizenship. Prosecutors say she voted by absentee ballot in the November 2020, January 2021, and November 2024 federal elections.

Gabriel Covarrubias, 44, of Lawrenceville, is a citizen of Mexico. In March 2023 he filed a U.S. passport application under another name and claimed he was born in Puerto Rico. Prosecutors say he then walked into a polling place and voted in person in November 2024.

Analiea Milliscent Eccles, 43, of Morrow, is a citizen of Venezuela. She entered on a visitor visa in 1991, received Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals status in 2013, and never applied to become an American. Prosecutors say she voted nine times between 2008 and 2024.

The three are charged, not convicted. They are presumed innocent, and it is the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.

U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg stated the rule the last Justice Department treated as optional: voting in federal elections is reserved to U.S. citizens, and every illegal ballot cancels a legal one.

The Justice Department credited the Office of the Georgia Secretary of State with “valuable assistance” in the investigations. In 2022 Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger ordered the first citizenship audit of Georgia’s voter rolls, matching Department of Driver Services files against the federal SAVE program. That review flagged 1,634 people who had tried to register but could not be verified as citizens.

“Only American citizens should decide American elections,” Raffensperger said.

The Georgia trio is not a one-off. They sit among 16 people the Justice Department charged across multiple states on September 18 for illegal voting and related election crimes. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon told Just the News on September 21 that the Trump Justice Department has already secured more than 200 arrests and indictments in its election-fraud crackdown, with 67 people indicted or convicted in recent weeks. Homeland Security, she said, has made more than 160 arrests.

The comparison is the indictment. Dhillon said the Biden Justice Department prosecuted 13 people for election-related crimes in four years. “We’ve done more than that in the last week here at DOJ.”

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin told Fox News his department is working 1,620 noncitizen-voting cases, has made 151 arrests, and is reviewing another 300,000 names drawn from state voter rolls. “Every single vote that was at the hands of an illegal canceled out a citizen that was legally registered and able to vote,” Mullin said.

The left’s legal shops still sell the line that this almost never happens. The charging papers allege a Venezuelan DACA recipient stayed on the rolls for sixteen years. They allege a Mexican national used a fake Puerto Rican identity at a Gwinnett County precinct. They allege a 1979 student-visa overstay voted through three federal cycles.

That is not a rounding error. That is a system that treated citizenship as paperwork and prosecution as a political choice. The last administration left the pieces on the board. This one is taking them off.

Dhillon said election officials are nervous because some of them looked the other way. “We’re catching it all over the country.”

The record now has case numbers. The establishment is running out of tricks. They mocked the people who asked who was on the rolls. The patriots came back with a secretary of state, a U.S. attorney, and a docket.

Sources: U.S. Department of Justice, Sept. 18, 2026; FOX 5 Atlanta, Sept. 21, 2026; CBS Atlanta, Sept. 21, 2026; Georgia Secretary of State, Sept. 21, 2026; Just the News, Sept. 21–22, 2026; The Daily Signal, Sept. 22, 2026.

OPINION / COMMENTARY ARES AI · THE LIBRARIAN Antigua, Mexico and Venezuela sat on the rolls for years.
