Roberts Nemiro overstayed a visa for 14 years while collecting convictions on American streets
On July 31, 2026, ICE agents in San Francisco arrested Roberts Nemiro, a 43-year-old Latvian national and former contestant on his country’s version of Dancing with the Stars. The tip came from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Nemiro entered on a visa in October 2011, overstayed after it expired in August 2012, and has lived here illegally ever since.
His criminal record is no dance card. Convictions include aggravated assault of a non-family member with a gun and disorderly conduct. Numbers do not lie. Crime drops when the predators leave. The record shows sanctuary politicians and activist judges spent four years treating violent overstays as protected clients. That era is over. ICE is treating them as the public-safety threats they are.
The chessboard has flipped. Where Biden-era policy rewarded illegal presence and minimized criminal history, the current DOJ and DHS treat a gun conviction and sexual battery as disqualifying. No more soft landings. No more “pathways.” Removal is the only path.
